ECCD Center for Girls

Children do not only need food and beverage for their well being and development but also education, attention, respect and knowledge about the world which surrounds them. Children living in slums often do not have an access to all of the above especially girls. No on is around who can sit and read a book to them or answer their curiosity and other queries as their parents aren’t educated enough to do so. Infact nobody has time to deal with them in accordance of their needs.

Especially in young age children observe so much, they are highly perceptive and are full of potential. Early childhood predetermines their ability of the later schooling phase. If the Child doesn’t learn to speak properly within 4-6 years, he will have problems with pacing along with classmates and grasping the lessons during his schooling.

With the Early Childhood Care of Development Programme, Sakshi tries to absorb some of the loopholes which the described children have. We try to give them a chance by helping them to grow up and develop with a holistic approach by meeting their basic needs for interaction and stimulation, security and learning through exploration. To make that possible we also work to support the families of the girls. The older siblings (sisters) also benefit From Early Childhood Care Programme as they are able attend the school without worrying about their younger siblings.

This program has 4 Center for girls and it is supported by National Children Fund (NCF), NIPCCD.
